Anyone who serves in the Swiss Army (including military service for woman, the Red Cross, and emergency services) or the civil or protection services, or participates in federal or cantonal “Jugend + Sport” or junior marksman leadership courses, is entitled to compensation.
Maternity leave is paid by law as a daily allowance at 80% of average employment income, up to CHF 196 per day for 14 weeks. University employees receive 16 weeks of maternity leave at full salary.
